I could have sworn that in an interview, TM said that Chavis gave him the nickname and the team picked it up. I could be wrong, but this is what I seem to remember
A player showed Chavis the video and it caught on with the team but it originated here. I remember the thread very well and a lot of people had negative reactions at first. Mathieu really hated it lol.

Once again are you getting this from fans or from Fournette himself? I included a link where Fournette himself said what "Buga no Suga" meant. Pointing out some random commenter who says it stands for an acronym means nothing.
There is the hip new thing on the interwebs called "Google". You can type in stuff you want to look for, and it will search billions of pages, stories, quotes, and the like. I took the liberty of doing this for you so you can have some time to practice.

For example "Booger" McFarland. And "Honey Badger" seemed to develop on this very site.
This site didn't exist when Booger played for LSU.
In any case, his mom gave him the nickname when he was two.

The OP does not say "Booger" got his nickname on this site.

There's a period after "McFarland" and before the word "And".
The punctuation means something.
If you think long enough, it may come to you...
