I was talking about this the other day. Let's compare them though.

1) Cook carried the ball 15 times for 54 yards averaging 3.6 ypc, going under 100 yards in a game already. Fournette had never gone under 100 yards in any game this year (hell, under 150 yards), and has yet to average less than 5.7 ypc in any game.

2) Fournette has been THE focal point of our offense. He is keyed on way more, and runs into 8 and 9 man boxes regularly. Cook has been one balanced part on his offense, and twice games have been won without him playing good, or even being in the game after the first drive.

3) Fournette has been closed down twice in games where he could have easily broken the 300 yard mark, and could have legit broken the mark in 3 games. Against Auburn he was at 227 with 10:28 to go in the 3rd quarter. Against SCAR he was at 158 with 10:30 to go in the 3rd quarter. Against Syracuse he had an 87 yard TD thrown away because a WR wasn't lined up on the line crap. That would have again given him enough for 300 yards. Cook's closest chance of legit hitting 300 yards in any game was against Wake Forest when he had 94 yards on 2 carries, then was hurt. I've watched his games and he has never come close or had even the possibility of doing it more than once this year.

4) They pass the ball way more than we do. Cook doesn't run into 8 and 9 man boxes 80% (that's a made up stat but I bet it's close to the actual number if I look it up) of the time like Fournette. They average 30.8 att per game, we average 18.2. They average 253.7 yards per game, we average 135.3.

5) Their best competition has been Boston College.

ETA:

However, I will give him props as I really believe that he is the second best back in the country. I also thought he was the second best back in his class (he was in the class with Fournette).
