LSU has to keep winning. Though not 100% of the time, the award generally goes to the perceived best player on the best team. If LSU drops 2 or 3 games in Nov., he'll start to fade, regardless of his numbers. In that scenario, Boykin become the frontrunner as long as TCU stays in the top 7. If TCU is the Big 12 champ and LSU is 2nd or 3rd in the SEC West, Boykin is the winner. Dalvin Cook is a sleeper pick. FSU isn't nearly as good as they were the last 2 years, but they still have a real chance to go undefeated. If that happens and LSU fades, Cook automatically becomes the "best player on the best team"
