but I think an 8.4l pushrod V10 should qualify. Its certainly one of a kind.

That engine is not exotic, it's truck engine casted in aluminum with better heads. Only the rarity makes it exotic IMO.

A C7 Z06 has more Carbon fiber, aluminum, magnesium and high tech gadgets. Ferrari is running an adjustable suspension system from the corvette. A $1million+ Ferrari Enzo shares the sames brake rotors and pads as the front of a C6 ZR1 Corvette.

What's your end game here? Are you trying to argue that a Corvette is more exotic? Because you're only going to convince yourself of that.

What it was developed for is irrelevant. Lamborghini started out making tractors. Ford used a supercharged truck engine in the 2003 GT and they are using a hopped up Ecoboost in the new GT. By the very definition of the word, the Viper has an "exotic" motor - it is literally the only car in the world that runs a giant pushrod V10...and despite its humble beginnings, it's a good motor for the car.

Got a link to support that claim? Are you familiar with how large the Vipers hood is? If the Z06 has more CF, it's marginal. Did you also miss where I said the Viper has a CF hood, roof, and decklid and the rest of the car is aluminum? Not sure what amazing tech the Vette provides aside from a data recorder that the Viper also doesn't have.

Okay, that's cool I guess...but it still doesn't make the Vette super exotic or any rarer - a case could possibly be made for the C6 ZR1.

I'm not trying to bash the Vette - though the new Z06 is a bit of a let down IMO - I just don't see what the argument/point you're trying to make is. It's general consensus that the Viper is more of an exotic and more exclusive than the Vette. The price difference and production numbers reflect that.
