This is the most idiotic 4 page thread in TD.com history. There is NO way to compare the two other than that they both were RB's.
When Billy Cannon played the Tigers had a rotation of 3 separate platoons that went both Offense and Defense. Remember The Chinese Bandits (in which BC wasn't a part of). They were one of those platoons.
So many people forget the night of BC's famous punt return that it was his awesome defensive play that stopped Ole Miss from the Tiger 1 yard line at the end of the game. It was a herculean defensive stop that preserved the win.
This thread totally diminishes the real talent Billy Cannon was.

Agreed...It is an entirely different game now. Back then, you didn't have 300 lb defensive linemen that ran a 4.6 forty.
