Also: What are you trying to accomplish when using this hydration system? Are you going for daily runs or month long backpacking trips?
Here's what I use for a backpack and water storage:
Gossamer Gear Mariposa 60 Lightweight Backpack <--I have an older version than pictured here.
MSR Dromedary Hydration Bag <-- with a 10 liter volume and a much thicker and more durable skin than the (imho) easy-to-pop plastic sold by Camelbak and Platypus, the MSR Dromedary is a win.
MSR Hydration Kit <-- I don't always use the cord to drink (sometimes I'm just storing water in the dromedary) but it's nice to have.
