Any coach that has come in and won without a total rebuild was either because somebody retired (Cower and Tomlin. Steve Walsh, George Seifert and Mariuchi.) or because somebody did the rebuild but couldn't get over the top. (Dungey & Gruden. Dan Reeves/Wade Philips and Mike Shannahan)

Cowher did a rebuild from his Super Bowl appearing team in the 90's to his SB team in the 2000's. Most fans don't have the patience for it. People wanted Tom Coughlin fired when they were rotating Warner and Eli, but the man won them two Super Bowls...and they still want him gone.

Simple thing is this, as a fan I will curse and hate the coaches and players. But I don't want the organization to run things like that. Slow and steady in the NFL will get you closer to Pitsburgh and Green Bay. Snap neck rebuilds get you Cleveland and Jacksonville.
