When I first saw the length of this post, I was concerned but great write-up and I applaud the time commitment needed to go in depth like this.

LSU is the only team that has beaten 2 ranked teams to start this season and if the polls and committees and councils and computers are worth 2 sh@ts in a bucket, they should all give credit for what they call "body of work" and position LSU accordingly.

Also, I watched LSU completely dominate 2 solid SEC teams in the first half of both games on defense. Completely dominate. Its being overlooked that neither opponent moved the ball on LSU in the first 2 quarters based on the box score data. And the eyeball test on the field in the first half of both games says that LSU will be able to do this to anybody they play this season. The media is not giving credit to this fact and are going with the idea that Auburn and Moo State are bad teams and LSU took advantage. That is completely the wrong assessment in my mind as I think State will win a big game or two based on Dak and that offense and I think Auburn will fix its problems quickly. Both teams were overwhelmed when the pressure was on when in the first half when it mattered. The difference is that LSU became conservative in the State game and allowed the offense to dink and dunk and wear on the defense in the second half and that appeared to be due to relaxed pressure in 4th quarter. We didn't see that in the Auburn game and the offense continued to attack and the defense kept pressing until the game was well in hand. I like the LSU defense and believe it will be a special season for them and if we can stay healthy on offense, this team could go all the way!
