Thanks. I do , but preliminarily I was thinking a pot, some dirt, some seeds, and some grow lights. Is that not enough? Oh, and water.

Yes....but....
a) you need nutrients
b) growing in soil provides better flavor. But it takes longer
c) hydro is a bitch to set up and maintain but yields are ridiculous
d) you have to worry about cooling. Lights get hot. Invest in LEDs if you are planning on growing frequently. More expensive but cooler and use less power
e) pests are a bitch and a half.

I am growing "tomatoes" outside right now. Its really easy to do, and cheap as frick. I will probably spend around $50 for the entire set up, and yield about 3 ounces of "pre 98 bubba kush tomatoes"

I assumed led lights take care of the heat issue.

I guess I don't want to waste time and wait a long time, so I guess I need to look at hydroponics. shite. Don't need another time-suck hobby but we'll see. I assume once you get into all that shite a book or website recommendation is not necessary. The local shop will supply. I'm pretty sure there is one nearby.

Doubt o.p. knows about soil much less hydro. PH levels in hydro are different and nute levels combined etc.

LED doesnt seem to have the nugget building power of a hortilux hps. And if LED breaks its a bitch.

I'd go T5 over led.
