People say that they waited 30 minutes before someone took their drink order. No you probably waited 5 minutes or so. If you waited 30 minutes you are an idiot for not grabbing someone and just wanted something to bitch about.

While that isn't what I'd consider "latest food/drink" type of trend, I totally agree with you. If you've ever gone to a normal dinner (meaning.. not a leisurely dinner with a group where you mingle well beyond your dining time) and looked at the time you sat and then the time you leave, it is pretty darn surprising how little time it takes.
I'm always surprised when I go to dinner and get back in the car and it has been like 45 minutes total.
So really.. it is unlikely anyone is waiting for 30 minutes.
