Child and adolescent/teen are very different to me. I identify children as having innocence, meaning no knowledge of drugs, alcohol, sex, violence etc. Teens learn about all that stuff and so they don't act the same as children

Again. If we're talking 16 that's one thing. 11-12 yos (and younger) definitely menstruate and definitely get erections. And they're still innocent enough unless they we raised like absolute urchins. I wouldn't beat the shite out of an 11 year old for swinging on me. I wouldn't give one of my younger cousins a sip of beer at that age. I wouldn't cover for them if I caught them smoking. They're still children.
