Looking for information about attending the LSU game in Starkville.

My wife and I attended the debacle last night. We are both LSU alums and she has a master's degree from McNeese. The head coach for McNeese was also her high school geography teacher, so she was pretty bummed about the game being cancelled. I told her we needed to head to Stark Vegas this weekend to make up for the lost game. Neither one of us has ever been to Starkville and I'm trying to get some info about games there.
1. How hard is it to get visitors' tickets up there on the day of the game? I won't know until later in the week if I'll be able to get of some work deal on Saturday morning.
2. How are the visitors'seats?
3. How is the parking up there?
4. Are there going to be any big LSU alumni tailgates?
5. What's the game day atmosphere?
Any helpful tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have been,
never had problem getting tickets, finding parking, getting a hotel room or having a blast. Campus made for tailgating.

1. It's not hard
2. They are pretty good I'm sitting in them again this year, the stadium is small there isn't a bad seat and they sit the visitors in the lower bowl near the jumbotron
3. The parking is fricking awful, you'll most likely have to take a trolley. That's what I had to do last time
4. Probably not, their tailgating isn't the best
5. It's alright if you goto the Junction, nothing compares to LSU and their campus is small and all brick...I'm not a big all brick guy
I've been to starkville over 50 times its nothing special but if you're with the right crowd you can have fun. If you're planning to out after the game. Goto the Dawghouse I'll be there and my cousin runs the bar, it's an older crowd bc its 21 and up
be safe
Friday night the Molly Ringwalds will be at the Dawghouse in addition to the Bulldog Bash lineup.
If you're looking to eat a nice place The Veranda is good, the Dawghouse has a really good lunch, Umi is a good sushi/hibachi place
Overall starkville is a small and boring college town, but like I said if you go with a good group you'll be fine. Watch out if those mother frickers trying to hit you with their cowbell. One of my friends got jumped their last year and he was in the hospital for a few days because they beat him with their cowbells

When I asked about Starkville a few years ago, someone repeated Skip Bertman's advice to ask for a hotel room without a view.

Thanks to everyone for the pointers. It looks like the absolute earliest I'll be able to get out of Nola is 11:00 om Saturday, so this is looking like one of those quick road trips. My wife and I got married a little over a month ago and our work schedules dictated that we would have to wait on a honeymoon. Does a road trip to Starkville count as a honeymoon?

I would try and scalp tickets the day of the game. I'm pretty sure stub hub is sold out (tho I haven't looked). The junction is a great place to tailgate just be sure to bring solo cups with you as the cops don't allow people to drink beer out of bottles or cans. For parking I always tell people get up early and drive over to the cotton district (bar district right off campus) and find street parking there that way you are not stuck in traffic for 2 hrs trying to get off campus. If you want to park on campus go to soriorty row and they sell spots there and it's arguably the fastest way off campus after the game. Enjoy Starkville and have fun

No chance. There is a casino in Philadelphia about an hour away.

I would stay in New Orleans and get a nice hotel room and you will have a much better time...

I agree with every bit of this...
