I still remember when ESPN showed one of Barkley's high school games, and it was actually shocking that he was so highly rated. Dude is just not an accurate passer, and he never has been.
He was a product of the Mater Dei hype machine. California sports media hypes all their quarterbacks up to be future superstars regardless of actual skills

Although he broke records at USC and was accurate, He was never touted by those in the know as a real future NFL star. Arm strength and size limitations. He'll make his money for a few years as a back up and go into coaching.
