It doesn't really matter how high you put the priority, the magnitude of money that is needed to actually complete the full length between Lafayette at I-10 all the way to N.O. is just so great it will take many many years to accomplish. Spots "fixes" can happen, see the projects just south of Lafayette, but sections like the "Connector" between I-10 and the Lafayette airport are going to cost extreme amounts of money when you factor in the permitting, right-of-way acquisition/relocations, and then construction.

The State is doing what it can in upgrading overpasses to interstate standards. That's the most expensive part--bridge replacement.
