Pops cant cock his crossbow

Any suggestions?? He says he can get it part way up but wont pull all the way to the locking mechanism-I don't own a crossbow, I shoot a traditional bow, any help is appreciated(And no, please no jokes, aint got time for that)

If he is just grabbing the string and pulling he would find it easier if he used a rope cocking aid. Much easier on his hands and he basically is using his legs instead of arms.

He fixed it-old man was using rope wrong way-I told him watch a video on YouTube, he said "What's You tube??"..lol...old fart, but its fixed now he is shooting and in all his glory!
