1978 Orange Bowl, Arkansas beats Oklahoma 31-6 after suspending several players.
1984 Cotton Bowl, Texas loses chance at national championship with late fumbled punt, losing 10-9 to Ga.
1987 Fiesta Bowl, Miami v. Penn St., a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup made possible because both teams were independents at the time.
1984 Orange Bowl, Nebraska loses national championship to Miami after late two-point conversion fails, 31-30.
1978 Cotton Bowl, Longhorns destroyed by Notre Dame, 38-10, in Earl Campbell's senior season with Texas ranked No. 1. Notre Dame vaults from No. 5 to national championship over wails from Alabama fans.
Don Criqui and Bob Trumpy on NBC were an awesome pairing, so most any Orange Bowl they broadcast in late 1980s.
Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen on several Rose Bowls, NBC. Don't remember Curt Gowdy, except for 1979 Super Bowl where Cowboys lost to Steelers.
