Melvin Gordon rushed for nearly 2600 yards last year and didn't win it. The Heisman is now a QB award, 13 of the last 15 winners have been QBs.

Unless there is a QB that is truly special, the Heisman is awarded to the best player on the best team, even if that guy probably isn't the best player in the nation
