The spout and shower handle are both sticking out the wall a good bit. How does it get like this and how do I fix it? TIA

Push it back in. And don't hang onto it when pleasuring yourself in the tub any more.

Lay down in the tub and push it back in with your legs.
Or I guess you could remove the hardware, cut the pipe, and re-thread it.

Move the house over an inch.

Straps securing supply line need to be accessed and corrected

Looks like the straps holding the pipes to the studs in the wall are backing out.

Cut the spout shorter. Whoever put it in left it way too long (and is slightly retarded for doing so as a 'professional').

If you have access to the back wall behind the shower cut a small access panel and put some pieces of one by 4 between water lines where they go into the valve and the back of fiberglass shower do the same between the spout and the back of the tub and shower unit
