Eta: I see your second followup. I didn't know there was a statute of limitations on certain felonies that expires, allowing you to own a firearm... That's cool.

Now getting around the Federal NICS database for purchasing a firearm from a dealer is different i think. I haven't tried it so i'm kind of up in the air about trying to purchase a firearm from a dealer because i would have to technically lie on the form they have you fill out.
