I did not find anything that CPM said that sounded like he was throwing him under the bus at all. I read it as more of his style of play more than anything. My opinion is that he wanted a guaranteed starting spot and CPM could not do it for him so he wants to go play somewhere he has a guarantee. Just my thoughts.

I read it more of Mainieri is a hard arse and different players respond differently to that style of coaching. Mainieri isn't going to change the way he coaches to appease one player on a roster of 35, so if that player is unhappy, then maybe LSU just isn't the place for him. And I do agree that playing at LSU is a lot of pressure for a young player. Nowhere else in minor league baseball or college baseball is your day to day life under that large a microscope with the combination of the fans and media. Think about it, college baseball is on TV infinitely more than minor league baseball. That can be a lot to handle for a kid who's just not ready for that type of pressure yet. I don't view that as Mainieri throwing him under the bus and thinking he's a pussy.

Exactly. Grayson couldn't hang with the big boys so he'll go play somewhere else and not have a chance at a National Title. His loss really. NEXT!
