I'm not saying they're toddlers but my friends and I were mischievious little shits at that age.

I just wouldn't trust the kids to make grown up decisions regarding weather, safety, etc. I'm sure it works for some people but I sure as hell wouldn't allow my 14 year old to take a boat offshore with his 14 year old friend.

No one knows what they were supposed to be doing. I am not saying the should have been offshore, I am just saying there is really no need to condemn the Dad for kids doing kid stuff. Maybe they stretched their boundaries, no one knows.

I think there are a lot of 14 year olds that have a pretty good level of maturity in the outdoors, hope for a great outcome
