You don't think Jimmy Sexton had been talking to multiple nfl teams throughout our 2004 season?

I wouldn't doubt that Sexton kept some irons in the fire for Saban, but to think Saban had already checked on LSU at least a year in advance is pretty farfetched.

Saban was looking to bolt to the NFL every year. Miami finally made the offer he had been looking for. His Miami experience made him a better coach. I've had two people on that 2004 LSU team tell me that the locker room was toxic and Saban had lost the team. People assume Nick would have gone on to rack up titles at LSU but I'm not so sure that would have been the case.
