I do. Nutt was considered a hot commodity at one point by many football insiders (enough so to be hired by two other SEC programs) and caused LSU plenty of fits (going 6-7 against them) during his career.

Recommending Nutt is much more plausible than a scorched earth theory.

ETA: Saban also went out of his way to leave his successor a shite ton of notes about the program, iirc.

He also went out of his way to give up on recruiting his final year. So much so that he didn't even recruit the #1 qb in the country from his own back yard. I guess most people don't realize what shite (not the players committed but the # of commits)he left Miles with that last class.
