I don't have much on my pc right now since it's relatively new. But enough to not make me want to clean install lol

If you're coming from Windows 7 bios to a UEFI boot, then chances are a clean install will be required. If you're coming from Windows 8/8.1 then an upgrade will probably be just fine.
We just got a bunch of new machines at work that came with windows 7 and our boss wants them all to have 8.1, so I've had to make changes to all the hard drives and boot processes in order to install 8.1 as there was no option to simply upgrade it.
