Another spooky occurrence. This morning I was walking our other lab down our regular route on an abandoned road through a swampy area. We saw a big water moccasin crossing the road. In all the times I walked that path with Kate these last weeks, we never saw a venomous snake. She was practically blind and deaf, and could easily have walked up on one without knowing it, but we never saw one. It's like something was protecting her, and now that she's gone, nature is getting back to normal.
