First...welcome. 
Second, Harris does have experience in the I formation. If you watch his senior highlight video there are 3 or 4 times where he takes the snap from under center and runs play action-similar to what Cam runs. If you watch Anthony Jennings' s senior highlights, every single play is either from the shotgun or pistol. Coming out of HS, Harris actually had more experience than Jennings as a drop back passer.
