Sources: LSU RB Derrius Guice transported to hospital

Former Catholic High star and current LSU freshman running back Derrius Guice on Wednesday was transported to a hospital from the LSU football practice facility, two sources told The Advocate.

LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette confirmed that a player was taken to a hospital Wednesday. He declined to reveal the identity of the player or his injury or illness.

The hospitalization may be a precautionary measure.

WBRZ first reported that an unnamed player was transported to the hospital and had a photo of the player being unloaded or loaded into an ambulance.

Guice is a five star rated prospect by Rivals.com and is ranked as high as the No. 2 running back in the 2015 class. LSU is currently conducting summer workouts under supervision of the strength and conditioning staff.

Guice is known as somewhat of a workout freak. His wild and intense workouts have been well documented.
