This would become the Baton Rouge terminus of the BR-NOLA rail link:
quote:
Entergy Gulf States Louisiana donated its long abandoned Government Street building to the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority, spearheading a long-standing initiative to renovate the blighted Mid City Warehouse Design District and make it a gateway into Downtown Baton Rouge.
The 6-acre, 261,360-square-foot parcel, on Government, near Circa 1857, holds 11 buildings and was once home to the city's first electric railway service in the 1800's. An existing rail line borders the western edge of the property.

That's be pretty sweet if it did work with the old entergy building. That location is prime for some redevelopment.
For BR a loop or downtown bypass is still way more necessary. It is insane that all interstate traffic goes right thru the city.
let people dream that this state has functional well intention government for second, please.

Not nearly enough to underwrite the service.
