Why the downvotes? $300 a month for food, gas and entertainment doesn't go far in the North East. That wasn't a subtle brag. Seriously, that's under $10 per day--again for food, gas, toiletries, batteries for the old Discman, booze, movie rentals (back then) and everything else.

Because this thread isn't about hearing stories of people from different backgrounds, it's a pissing contest to see who went from poorest to richest or some shite. It's weird.
It's like when fan bases argue over whose team is worse and actually get into it. You don't wanna be poor but in this thread, you do.
