Move from N. Louisiana to BR at the end of the month. These guys were recommended. Anybody have good/bad things to say about them?

Yeah, well, the days of having friends and a couple of cases of beer to move are long gone. So are the days of having my dad move me in an open cattle trailer (did that a couple of times, 30 years ago.) So I have to pay big bucks to have it done.

Apparently these sort of places are notorious for theft. The only other thing you may have to worry about is stuff being broken..

Student Movers Inc

Our needs are different, but I used these guys to unload my truck after a move to BR from out of state. The guys were literally running back to the truck to get more stuff. My experience was very positive and have no hesitation recommending them.

One of the key employees there is a poster here as well. Maybe like the owners nephew or something like that.

I used All My Sons to move to BR last year.

100 miles, they packed up the kitchen and all my big items and loaded all my pre packed items in the truck for me. About $1900 all together plus the $300 I tipped split between the 4 guys.

Nothing broken except for the legs on a dining table chair. Nothing scratched. The only knock I have on them is that they had some trouble getting a crew out in time, but once they got there they were all business and very good. They even unpacked upon arrival.

Anything of value that could be easily stolen was packed by me and the wife prior to their arrival. All electronics, jewelry and guns were packed and in my vehicle before they even arrived.

My only advice with them is to schedule in advance and pin them down to a day/time and insist that if they are late you won't be needing their services. After I told them to get lost because they couldn't get there in time they had a crew on site in an hour.

I have used them twice. Doug and his son (forget his name) are good guys and their crew did a good job.

Yes on the schedule in advance & pinning them down. This has got to be done on the exact day, timing is crucial, so thanks for the tip. If I agree to one company, and they don't show, I'm stuck big time.
