I was there. My first LSU game. I was four years old, and there were four of us attending the game (mom, dad, me, and my sister). I didn't know it at the time, but we had just three tickets. My mom just grabbed me up as my dad handed the ticket taker the three tickets, and we rushed on in. I had to sit in my mom's lap, so I was unknowingly a gate crasher for my very first game. Whatever the attendance figure was that night, it was off by one.
When Cannon made his run, obviously everyone stood up, so my mother picked me up so I could see the end of it, as Cannon crossed the goal line on the far side of the field. Being just four, I was getting a little tired after his run, so I told my mom "LS&U is ahead, can we go home?" I'm glad they didn't listen to me, though I really don't remember the play where Ole Miss was stopped at the goal line.
