Were you scratching his belly at the time?
Seriously though, my border collie used to have seizuers. Granted every dog's seizures may be different, but she never kicked or anything like that. She just kind of balled up and shook. She was in a daze and had no clue what was going on for several minutes after.

Kind of what I was thinking - something like air from the heater was stimulating that spot.
