I thought Poche was an interesting idea but I didn't realize until we were in the moment that we had to win four games in the loser's bracket and Lange would only be available for one of them. And then I realized that if Lange started game 1 and LSU lost (which hadn't happened all year), he would still be available if we needed him by the weekend.

Is it fair to ask if Mainieri thought of this when he made the decision?
