I don't agree. That tag is like 4" long, or looks like it in that pic. . Marlin tags aren't more than 6 inches. A 2" difference in tag size vs the size of a marlin/trout size is a huge difference. Again, the drag of that tag must suck.

Here is a webpage on fish tagging with a series of photos of some different tags. There are many different methods and styles of tagging fish, but these are three common tag types.
Notice the relative size of the tags. Although the highly visible (brightly colored) portion of the tags are approximately the same length, the overall size of the tags differ to due the mechanism that actually secures the tag to the fish.
