So based on that, why not just find someone to watch walk and run for the first time?
What about the first time shooting a basketball?
Swinging a baseball bat?
Hitting a golf ball?
Returning a serve in tennis?
Everyone learns to walk and run unless there are medical conditions that prevent it from happening.
I suspect you have never tried to skate let alone play hockey otherwise you would understand. Learning to skate to then learn to play and refine your sport isnt the same as:

And everyone that plays hockey learns how to skate.

Hockey no, but I have skated a few times. It is very difficult at first, but becomes pretty routine after a while. Not on the level of a hockey player obviously, but enough to where I can glide around without having to concentrate on not falling. If a significant portion of my job required me to skate everyday at an elite level, I imagine it would just become routine after a while, just like skateboarding, bike riding, sprinting, etc does first for those athletes.

I believe the amount of practice and refinement that goes into the skills I listed is greater than the skills that go into playing hockey, even after learning to skate. But there's plenty of other things we can add to the above list in terms of things that aren't natural acts that needs to be learned before further refining the skills required to be elite: swimming, water polo, gymnastics, pole vaulting, triple jumping, etc.
