I had an angioplasty with stent emplacement in my circumflex artery at age 45 in June 1997. The procedure is no big deal for most.
I, unfortunately, coded that night and that was just the beginning of a bad summer. I was given a drug called Ticlid, that I turned out to be the one in a bazzilion of whom had an allergic reaction. It shut down my immune system. In August of 1997 I was told that I was going to need a bone marrow transplant and should not expect to see my 46th birthday in September.
I am one of two people in the world (the other a man in France) who survived the experience without a bone marrow transplant. It just goes to show that only the good die young.
I am sure that yours will be uneventful. Good luck!
