Sweet

Shut up.

Left over ice cream and guacamole, trying to get the taste of horny frog out of my mouth.

Our syrup collection (established to please multiple grandkids)includes, Ms. Butterworth's, Hungry Jack, Blackburn's, karo for divinity and Cane Syrup harvested from local cane - run through a mill to harvest the juice and cooked off by some friends every fall.

It's a country guy kind of thing. I have a couple of quart cans left after Christmas Gifts and had that on my pancakes tonight in honor of my Dad's father who did this every fall during the depression. My Grandfather and his sons cooked their cane syrup in a galvanized pan over a wood fire (very difficult to do without scorching and ruining the batch). We did ours in a (four foot wide circular) custom fabricated pan over a carefully regulated propane fire. Still have to stir it carefully to remove the foam and trash and to keep it from scorching. The very tiniest bit of scorch will completely ruin a batch of syrup.
