Brian Transeau, aka BT. Classically trained pianist and student/alumni of Berklee School of Music. Probably one of if not the most authentic artist of the genre. Recorded the first ever EDM album designed to be played in 5.1. Scored several films and recently recorded a crowd funded album where he led an orchestra to put together his songs and recorded an additional album with them.
He's one of the few-if not the only-artist in the bunch. He was recording shite on a crappy label here in the states in the early 90's and had no clue whether anyone liked it. Two British DJ's in a duo group reached out to him and asked him to come to London.
He went and they took him to a club where thousands people lost their shite when his songs came on. He did all of Oakenfold's tracks and let Paul take a lot of credit where it wasn't due. Had years worth of sounds and stems stolen from his house. Ironically it was after he broke off from Oakenfold and went out on his own and Paul had no real music to continue his career arc with.
...sorry I blacked out. We were talking about EDM right?
