I'd usually agree. However, sometimes managers schedule so many unproductive meetings that it's almost rude to make their subordinates sit and listen to their bullshite for hours.

Pretty much. Usually if a meeting has some content that applies to my position or is engaging, I won't even look at my phone. Other times if it wasn't for my phone, I'd probably have nodded off in the meeting. Some people can be rude as frick, but if the majority of the people you're speaking to is browsing their phones during the meeting then the problem might not be them.

It is not hard to maintain people's attention. Talk loud and to the point. Move from subject to subject.
