The last thing I would want on my roof during a hurricane is solar panels.
I can imagine those things coming off, pulling a good chunk of your roof with it.

Really? You "know" this how? Outside of some shite Chinese made panels, solar panels easily last past their 25 year warranty.
Besides, with the lease everything is covered for the length of the lease. So if a panel or inverter does go down he will be covered.

Don't count on tax credits to replace them.
Fair point.

I would deduct the cost of replacement now.
Huh? Why? he doesn't have to get solar panels again so why would he deduct for replacement now? And unless the seller is a total moron he would laugh in your face.

If they are installed properly, there is no difference between your roof and the panels. The racks should be lagged into the rafters and hurricane rated stainless steel bolts are used for the mounts. If there is a hurricane strong enough to pull off a solar installation, it is strong enough to pull off your roof.

And if they are leased, don't look for your homeowners insurance to cover the damage

And what happens when the lease is up? Who will come remove the panels if that is what you want? By then the solar company is long gone and you are stuck with that problem
