You are proving why most lottery winners end up bankrupt. I wouldn't give a dime of it to anyone. I would invest it all in tax-free muni's, live solely off the interest, and then only leave about $1M total spread among various charities. The rest would go into trust to be invested in perpetuity with only the interest being available to my heirs. I might throw $100K to my high school in my will.

My HS doesn't need any money. I'd rather give say $225 mil to the poorest HS, so that they'd have better classrooms, technology, scholastic and athletic facilities, resources, etc., etc. than the richest HS in town. It would be interesting to see what happens when the HS no one wants to go to suddenly has facilities no one else could dream of.
