I built an entire backyard about 2 years ago--salt water gunite pool, hot tub, 25'x25' outdoor kitchen, fire pits, and fire boxes. My builder was an absolute turd. It took twice as long as initially projected and every other day I would catch him doing something wrong or sneaky--anything to save a buck.

It eventually came out very nice, but we had to get legal on him for that to happen.

Shortly after we were done, I discovered that a metairie woman he apparently screwed over actually started a hate website dedicated to this pool builder!

What he failed to realize is by trying to frick me on every turn, he will never get a recommendation from me. We entertain a good bit and are constantly asked "Who built this backyard?"
I always tell them who built it and to stay the hell away from that a-hole. He could have easily had 3-4 more $150k+ jobs just from my referrals had he not been a douche.
