I didn't say the red dot has no use. I said the red dot on top of the scope has no real world use. You can get a 1-4 scope and it will do everything a red dot will at 1x, and it will do everything a scope will at 4x. You will have the best of both worlds. The Vortex PST even has an illuminated reticle that looks similar to a EOTech.
