Considering Stanford was 5-1 against USC from 2007-12, I'd say this was just a matter of USC being vastly overrated (shocking) and Jim Harbaugh being incredibly underrated.

Maybe recruiting Andrew Luck had something to do with that. I'll go out on a limb and say he was significantly better than Tavita Pritchard. And what does the record from 08-12 have to do with the 07 game? Stanford went 4-8 that year. From 09-12 they went to the Orange, Fiesta, and Rose bowls. Maybe the Luck guy and all those pro TE's had something to do with those other wins over USC.
You make no point.

Record against USC with Andrew Luck: 2-1
Record against USC without Andrew Luck 3-0
That game was a huge upset at the time. In hindsight, it was just the first of many.
