there is a lot more to do and see in new york than boston(i'll second what landshark said about new york being the greatest city in the world). I'd recommend 2 nights in boston and at least 4 in new york(or 3 boston, 5 new york). don't rent a car, just take a train between the cities, its about 4 hours. Go to fenway instead of yankee stadium, thats a no brainer.
