Not near the school. The school offers dorms, but I think that after a year the handful of people in my class that tried them moved out. If he's being funded by his OT baller uncle, warehouse district offers some pretty sweet apartments/condos that are extremely convenient for school. If he's still around college age, Uptown has plenty of housing options and Mid-City (where I lived) is more up and coming and a great place to live. Nowhere in the city is too bad in terms of convenience to the school.

If he doesn't care about being in the city, then honestly you don't have to live right there. Several people lived in Metairie which is no problem after you get a routine down in a few weeks.

River Ridge as well. Easy trip down earhart.
