The 2011 team failed to get the job done. Failure is not rewarded.

Yea LSU was the laughing stock of the entire country when they won the SEC. No tolerance for failure.

They'll definitely honor them in about 10 years. Especially in about 20 if a couple of those players on that team can have impactful NFL careers.

Besides th '03 season, it was my favorite team to watch even despite the NC loss. I'm a defense oriented person. Played defense myself. Would rather watch a 9-6 game or a 10-7(LSU/Ole Miss) than a 35-42 game. That defense will go down as one of the best ever fielded. And with due respect paid to Alabama, they had one of the best as well. Crazy that it happened in the same year, same conference, same division.

Completely off topic, but in all sports we are witnessing a generation of athletes that will be talked of for the next hundred years. For example Basketball: Lebron/Duncan/Greg Pop, football: Nick Saban/Bill Beli at New England(his continued success is astonishing), Nadal, Federer, Djkov, both Williams in tennis. Tiger Woods in his prime in golf. SF Giants the last five years. Mayweather 48-0 and going for 50. Messi and Ronaldo in soccer. Just honestly fun to watch any sports right now. Exciting decade or so of sports.

They also had the worst performance in a championship game out of ANY team in the entire BCS era.
