I'm not sure about losing his mind, but I've surmised losing it all will be Don's fate in the finale.
The numerous flashback's to his childhood poverty, and clause in his contract that he could lose his partnership for bad behavior, pretty much sealed his fate in my book.
Whether he's felt unworthy of his success and has purposely sabotaged his career is another matter.
