Everyone seems to think we reached for Anthony, but if you look at Kendricks it makes sense. Maybe Kendricks is a more complete linebacker, but Anthony is about 3 inches taller and slightly bigger. I think the saints were looking for a big bruiser in he middle and they got just that. There was a run on LBs at the beginning of the second before our pick, so we have no guarantee he'd have been there at 44. PJ Williams is great value when we got him. I dint know much about he LBs, but I like drafting production over measurables. This is something we rarely do. I don't mind not drafting a WR. Loading up on D will pay dividends. It's clear that we're trying to beef up the run game. We paid 10 mil on RBs this year. We clearly don't value WRs as much as we have in the past. I think this offseason has shown a drastic shift in our priorities on positions and on priorities of skill sets. Only time will tell if it was the right move, but what we were doing wasn't working.

I like a lot of your post but have to disagree with one thing. Anthony is definitely the more complete LB between him and Kendricks. Kendricks was hands down the best in coverage but Anthony is second best, a better run defender, and a better blitzer.

These were my top two guys and I was leaning Kendricks because of his very good cover skills, but I feel we got the best overall LB. Can't be mad at that.
