quote:The first game in the series, X-Wing, was released in 1993 and Tie-Fighter came out the following year. The version of Tie-Fighter I played was the collector's addition, which included full voice acting, higher resolution graphics, and an expansion with extra missions.
I never played these. were they before or after the rogue squadron games?
Then X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter came out in 1997 but is more focused on multiplayer. I don't think there is much of a story to it like the previous games in the series, but I never played it.
The first Rogue Squadron game came out in 1998, and then X-Wing Alliance came out in 1999. It's in the same vein as X-Wing and Tie-Fighter, with a single player story.
If you haven't played one before, just be aware that it's more of a space flight sim than the Rogue Squadron games. I enjoyed the RS games but felt like they were kind of shallow compared to the X-Wing / Tie-Fighter games. To properly play, you need a keyboard and flight stick.
